Although a good theory is always practical, practice only learns from practice. In this sense we talk about action learning and praxeology.

MIND SHIFT

The EUSG Vorkurs retreat

The EUSG Vorkurs is the door to studying individual and collective agency. It facilitates a Mind Shift. It goes to the very roots of understanding our understanding. It explores in epistemic humility what our individual experiences are and what grows from them, individually and collectively. It lets go of all knowing to grow an understanding of our individual and collective being in the face of the challenges of the Anthropocene in the 21st century.

The next EUSG Vorkurs retreat will take place
in autumn 2022 on the Brandenburg countryside near Berlin, Germany.

REFLECTION IN ACTION

The EUSG Masterclasses

The EUSG Masterclasses are realising a role model for entrepreneurial learning as a experienced-based, relationship-oriented, co-created and co-facilitated process of inquiry, learning, and understanding embedded in epistemic humility.

Building on the experiences and traditions of the Bauhaus Art School of Weimar they realise ease and playfulness that could be described as ‘radical sandboxing’. In their essence, however, they are inspired by the Tamkeen approach trusting our human potential and our humanity realising the existentiality of love. The EUSG Masterclasses may be amongst those metamorphic niches a humanising society grows from.

Living Metamodernity

The purpose of the Metamodernity Masterclass 2022 is to further a shared understanding of our collective ability to navigate the challenges of the Anthropocene in the 21st century. The goal of this Masterclass is to co-reflect our lived experiences, to explore and co-create a common ground and language around the fundamentals of the emerging metamodern turn.

In this Masterclass we explore four directions of metamodernism in our attempts to escape the postmodern maze: the cultural between, the political after, the mystic beyond, and the existential underneath. We find an opening and rootage in growing a shared understanding of lived metamodernity embedded in epistemic humility.

The Metamodernity Masterclass 2022 will start on the 15th of January 2023, 14:00 CET with an open online kick-off call.

Critical System Thinking

Complexity is the major issue facing decision-makers whether working in the private, public or third sectors. Systems thinking is increasingly recognised as the only way of successfully engaging with complexity. As Sir Patrick Vallance, Head of Government Science and Engineering (in the U.K.), recently stated: “Systems thinking is a way of understanding a complex interacting problem. There is no doubt in my mind that for policy it is crucial”. Systems thinking encourages a flexible mindset, which is necessary to navigate complexity, and provides a skills-set of systems approaches oriented to achieving improvement even when we are confronted with the most ‘wicked’ of problems.

The modular course will start on the 26th of September 2023.

LEARNING ECOSYSTEMS

The EUSG Masterclasses are experience-based, relationship orientated, co-created, co-facilitated joint learning journeys. They convene learning ecosystems which are characterised by five innovative didactic features:
Entrepreneurial co-creation
The EUSG Masterclasses are initiated by the students themselves. They co-create the entire course, the syllabus, the study projects, the selection and invitation of guests bringing their expertise etc. and even the duration. They own their course.
Experience-based co-facilitation
The EUSG Masterclasses are experience-based and self-facilitated. There is no teacher. The students share their experiences and co-reflect, their study projects, the books they read, the videos they watched etc. They co-facilitate their journey.
Learning journey sharing
The EUSG Masterclasses are a joint learning journey. The journey is documented in an open collective learning journal which will be published on the EUSG website. The peer-certification of the EUSG Masterclasses is based on sharing the shared understanding that grew.
Triple-blended learning ecosystems
The EUSG masterclasses are learning-ecosystems convening the experiences of three learning worlds: first, the experiences of online learning and co-reflection of the content, second, on-site social field experience and dialogue, and third, transfer experiences from the students’ own entrepreneurial projects.
Learning partners
In the EUSG Masterclasses, epistemic humility prevails. Experts are invited as learning partners by the students. Teacherly authority remains in the eyes of the beholder. Everybody can be a learning partner. In the dialogue of the learning partnership, understanding is mutually arising.
