Richard Thomas
runs a foundation working across Europe to commission composers, record music, and promote concerts of contemporary classical music. His varied career includes qualifying and working as an occupational psychologist; as a civil servant in the UK Treasury he helped to regulate banking, conduct economic analyses of the broadcasting industry, and was part of the team that set up the UK’s National Lottery. For much of the last 20 years he has been the chief executive of a financial services company in the UK. He studied philosophy, psychology and neurophysiology at the University of Oxford, and has an MBA from INSEAD, Fontainebleau.
