Background: The Global Fund is an international financing institution that fights AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria with a 21st century approach: partnership, transparency, constant learning and results-based funding. In February 2009 eusg facilitated a workshop hosted by the Development Bank of South Africa (DBSA) on the development of a proposal strategy for the 9th round of proposals for the Global Fund fighting AIDS, HIV and TB.
Objectives and Results: The goal of the workshop was to develop a strategic direction for the proposal that is shared and backed up by all relevant stakeholders: the Ministry of Health, medical and patients’ organizations, church organizations and several international NGO’s, including donors.
