Background: Alternative dispute resolution such as mediation has been increasingly accepted and used internationally, both alongside and formally integrated into legal systems, in order to capitalize on the typical advantages over litigation: Suitability for multi-party disputes, parties’ choice of a neutral third party, likelihood and speed of settlements, durability of agreements etc. Eusg was part of the consortium of a project funded by the EU with the overall objective of ensuring better access to justice through the development of alternative dispute resolutions.
Objectives and Results: The project consisted of the development of alternative dispute resolution measures in Croatia and the adjustment of these measures according to the EU best practices as well as the development of both an in-court and out-of-court alternative dispute resolution system for natural and legal persons.
